I was just commissioned to design 2 posters for a summer program for girls called “Girls Rock Camp - Houston”. It’s actually a really cool idea and it’s pretty serious. They only allow 30 girls into the program and they are instructed by some well-known ladies in Houston who have been in rock bands. So, you can imagine how neat it is to be the lady who gets to design the official posters.
I have 4 days to do this… I will post them here once I’m done.
Matt and I made a trip to Pie in the Sky while we were waiting for our clothes to dry at the laundromat.
Just realized that I consider everything I do with my boyfriend “romantic”. Don’t even need to try.
yesterday was a good day, but also very funny.
matt bought tickets to the will johnson house show, so we made plans to grab some dinner early have a few beers, and head out to the show to get a comfy spot in the living room.
we ate dinner at king biscuit, which, used to be good but we had the worst service, food, and matt’s beer was a little flat, so absolute fail.
after dinner, we drove by the house the show was going to be hosted at. the time at this point was only 6, so we didn’t expect anyone to be outside or inviting anyone in yet. all in all, it looked like a fortress and the only way to get in was the automatic gate being opened.
we decided on beer island to kill some time. instructions were to arrive at the house (for adequate seating) between 7 and 7:30. we buy a sixer from the convenience store and head out to the show. we circle around a few times…. still looks pretty solid and unwelcoming. we investigate, wait around a few minutes, and look at our ticket print out again…. in huge type the ticket says “Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 — Will Johnson House Show”.
we laughed for a good 5 minutes and headed over to my friend’s new studio.
MOST HILARIOUS THING, EVER. i think if the house wasn’t 5 mins away from our place we would be pissed. but we had a lot of fun last night, regardless.
and tonight, we get to do it all over again!
