Since getting married 2 months ago, life hasn’t really settled like I thought it would. Between changing my last name legally, and celebrating the holidays with friends, Matt and I haven’t had a whole lot of time to breathe. Not to mention, I JUST recovered from a major sinus infection that lasted a whole 2 weeks!

I thought rather than making a list of things I’ve accomplished the past year, that I should make a list of reachable long-term goals. Tons has changed in my life since getting married (oh, yeah, plus getting married), and I want to do this right.

1.  Healthy living. I started CrossFit 2 weeks ago, but tomorrow begins my major-for-real classes with my group.  I’m so ready to make the change of being a healthy person this year! That includes a strict paleo diet and light drinking.

2. Create more art. I illustrate on my free-time because I simply have too much to do during the day. Between a full-time job, freelance clients, and keeping my household together, spending time on art is a small part of my day. Change this.

3. Take more photos. With 2 weddings already booked in 2012, I am ready to start doing more with photography. Weddings are a beautiful thing, and I love capturing that.

4. Become a better designer. I have (no joke) 14 years of design experience. Design is the only thing in my life that I know I will always be passionate about. With all the phases I have gone through in my career, I now feel that it’s time to be the “senior”. I’m making this year a good one. I have an awesome job at a very successful company, in a very successful field, and I am going to make a difference there. This is why I moved to Austin, TX. I’m thankful for this opportunity and I want nothing more than to excel.

5. Do the wife thing. It’s weird. I’m married. And my marriage has already been tested the day before the new twelve hit the world. Life is what you make of it, and it’s easy to fall into the wrong hole, but realizing what you have done years later really takes some damage control. The cooking, the cleaning, the being a strong woman is no understatement. I want all of that. When I think the job is over, it’s just getting started. I’m looking forward to gaining and perfecting those skills this year.

6. Travel a little more. Jordan and Meghan’s wedding is in October of this year in Ohio. Cannot wait to go back! BUT! I would also love to do a little more traveling. Mini-roadtrips, please!

7. Save up for a car. This may not happen til later this year, but we are trying.

8. Save up for a house. I want to save at least 8k by the end of the year.
